The clearest seasonal pattern is the holidays. In late 2025 Driftaway ran holiday codes worth 10% to 15% off, valid through December 8. They covered gift subscriptions, box sets and single bags, not regular subscriptions.

Driftaway suits people who want to learn what they like. The Explorer Box and tasting make it easier to pick coffees than a quiz. It also suits buyers who care about sourcing: Driftaway says it pays 3 to 5 times the Fair Trade price and runs a farmer price-transparency program. A gift subscription is easy to send, and the recipient chooses their own coffees.

It is less suited to bargain hunters. At $19 to $23 for 12 oz, prices are typical for specialty coffee, and the main discounts require prepaying. If you already know the exact coffee you want, single bags with bundle pricing may fit better. Read the prepaid and gift terms first, because both are hard to cancel.
