Rent the Runway promo codes and deals

On October 8, 2026, Rent the Runway listed three plans, all with 5 items at home at a time: 1 shipment a month for $129, 2 shipments for $164, and 4 shipments for $275. A 40% first-month discount brought these to $78, $99 and $165. After the first month you pay the full price each month until you pause or cancel.

Since June 2026 the brand has added a shipping charge of $1.99 per shipment in your plan for the first month, then $1.99 to $4.99 per shipment after that. Tax is extra. An extra shipment beyond your plan costs a prorated amount plus $11.95.

Other costs to know: swapped items returned late cost $2 per item per day. Pausing with items at home costs $24 per item per month. Significant damage, loss or theft is charged at up to the item's price. One-time rentals start at $35, with $11.95 standard shipping. Members get 25% off them.

First-month discounts are for new members, and some codes also accept rejoining members. You enter the code at checkout. Rent the Runway allows one promo code per order, but a gift card can be used alongside a code on the first month of a new subscription. Codes cannot be used on one-time rentals or purchases unless the offer says so.

The discount covers one month only, and the plan then renews at full price on the same date each month. To avoid the next charge, cancel or pause in Membership Settings before your bill date. Payments are not refunded or prorated. After cancelling, return items within 24 hours of your cancellation date or you pay $15 per item. After 10 days you are charged the purchase price.

The standing offer is a percentage off the first month of a membership. In October 2026 the plans page showed 40% off, and the brand's promotions page listed seasonal codes with set end dates, such as a fall code ending October 13, 2026.

Existing members get separate offers: time-limited codes for buying rented items or clearance pieces, 25% off one-time rentals, and free bonus spots at months 3, 6 and 12 through RTR Rewards.

Rent the Runway suits people who want to wear new designer pieces often, for work, events or travel, and who would otherwise buy items they wear only a few times. The 2-shipment plan at $164 a month gives up to 10 items a month and costs less than buying one designer dress. Not having to dry-clean is a real saving.

It suits you less if you wear the same few outfits, need exact fit every time, or want a fixed monthly cost. The per-shipment shipping charge, late fees and the full-price renewal after the first month all add up. For a single wedding or event, a one-time rental is usually the cheaper choice.
