This is the original Advantage spot-on flea treatment, the version that contains imidacloprid alone. In US stores you'll mostly find Advantage II, which replaced it in 2011 and adds pyriproxyfen to kill flea eggs and larvae as well. Original Advantage kills adult fleas on contact, usually within 20 minutes and before they have to bite. It also kills larvae in the areas your pet spends time in. It stays effective after bathing or swimming, and it's labeled safe for puppies, kittens, and pregnant or nursing pets.
PetCareClub sells it in color-coded packs by weight: four sizes for dogs (up to 10 lbs, 11 to 20, 21 to 55, and over 55) and two for cats. Each size comes in a 4-dose pack, a 6 + 2 free pack or a 12 + 4 free pack. The 16-dose pack works out to roughly $5.75 to $6.60 per dose for dogs, compared with about $8.40 to $10 per dose in the 4-pack. It ships from the UK, so allow 10 to 15 business days, and order before your current supply runs out.
